My little concert pianist....
Kali loves to play the piano. She thinks she is pretty good and somehow Madelyn is feeling some kind of beat in all that noise. :) Funny girls!

Fieldtrip to The Hamburger Farm
Last week Zach and Kali's preschool classes took a field trip to Bishop's "Hamburger Farm". They learned all about where the food that is on our hamburger comes from and how it is grown or made. The kids got to enjoy the petting zoo, a train ride, the hamburger farm tour, a yummy hamburger lunch and then some playtime. They had a really great time and I was so impressed with how much they enjoyed learning about the garden and where so much of our food comes from. Maybe we need to start a garden of our own sometime soon!!
Zach and his buddy Bryant.
Ummm...yeah we didn't touch the pigs. I'm not sure who WOULD want to pet them! It was pretty interesting to see the mother sow and her LOTS of babies.
Zach loved feeding the goats and of course Kali enjoyed watching them from outside the fence...she was Miss Jeannie's little shadow most of the time. They both love Miss Jeannie so much.

Learning about wheat and then getting to grind our very own wheat. The kids loved this part!

Cucumbers...become the pickles on our hamburgers.
Lettuce.
Tomatoes...fruit or veggie?? They are actually a fruit if you didn't know.
Smelling the onion. MMMMmmmm.
Which cow is for milk and which one is for our hamburger?!! The Black and white one or the brown one? She actually didn't even talk about where the meat comes from. Interesting.
Milking the "cow". It was a fake wooden cow with a bucket and fake utters.

Digging for potatoes. They LOVED this part. I was amazed at how well she had all the kids attention.

Throwing their potato "fries" in the compost pile.
Honey Bees! Not really sure what this had to do with the "hamburger farm" part but it was pretty interesting and the kids were in awe of how many bees were inside that thing!

Train ride in the "cattle car". I thought it was funny how they all picked this car over all the others with actual seats. After the train ride back we enjoyed our hamburger lunch. I think my kids played with their hamburgers more than they ate them. (They are chicken nugget eaters.)

Fun slide! What a great way to end the fun field trip! The kids had a blast!

Beating the heat!
It has been SOOOO HOT here the past week and we had to do something about it! This was the other night when Kristin came over with her kids and we had dinner and hung out together while our hubbies were working late. The kids decided to have a little dance party while enjoying the sweet air conditioning inside. It was quite the entertainment! Madelyn was loving it!!
Last weekend we went swimming with some favorite friends of ours and the kids had a blast! It was a HOT day and perfect for a nice swim!!

This afternoon I actually pulled out the swimming pool that I bought on clearance last year for $7.50! The heat was so bad today and I needed something to keep the kids busy for a while and this was the perfect activity! Zach and Kali had a blast and I was able to feed Madelyn and get her to bed in peace and quiet. AND Zach and Kali came in worn out and hungry so it made for a quick dinner, bath and bed night. No fuss or fight. Just what a tired mommy needed! Here they're giving you their best silly faces!

Disneyland Trip 2009!!
This past week we packed up the kids and the car and headed to Disneyland for a little family trip with the Hinson's. The weather was perfect, the hotel was nice, and the lines were short!! What else could we ask for? The kids had a great time and loved just about every minute of it. We stayed in the Disneyland hotel which was close and convenient and had an awesome pool! Zach got to ride just about every ride (Space Mountain being his favorite) and poor little Kali was an inch too short... She was a trooper though and still loved seeing the characters and riding on whatever little rides she could. Madelyn did great too and just was along for the ride and little catnaps whenever she could squeeze them in. She was surprisingly pretty easy and just went with the flow. We had a blast and can't wait to go back!! Here are the pics...sorry there are so many. Enjoy!!
Arrival at the hotel...the kids waiting while we were checking in.
Our first character spotting! Buzz lightyear!! It took a few minutes before they decided to take a pic with him.

It's a Small World! Madelyn loved this one!

Fun at the pool. Madelyn loved the water! It was a nice break after a long day in the park.

Breakfast in Goofy's Kitchen. This was so much fun! The kids got to see all kinds of characters and dance with Goofy. The food was awesome too!!

Okay, so Mark was talking on the phone and then Goofy walked up and took the phone away from him and put it up to his own ear. It was really funny! You think Goofy was trying to tell Mark something?!! Yes, he is always on the phone!

View from our hotel room and the awesome pool!!
Kristin and I took Kali and Millie to visit Pixie Hollow where the Fairies and Tinkerbell live. This is a fairly new attraction in D-land since the new Tinkerbell movie and fairies has become so big. Anyways, Kali and Millie were in heaven! It was so cute to see how excited they were to get special one on one time with Silvermist and Tinkerbell.

Fun with Minnie and playing in her house. Madelyn loved seeing Minnie and would get so excited anytime we would see a character...especially Minnie and Mickey!

New Ears! Zach was obviously getting a little tired. He was throwing a fit over something...hence the sad face.

The famous spot! You can't leave D-land without taking a picture here!
Waiting for the big fireworks show! It was packed and crazy...but it was fun!

Kali was getting a little tired waiting and decided to close her eyes...she missed the fireworks and woke up the next morning and said"Mommy we forgot to see the fireworks!"
You think we wore them out?!! We had a blast and can't wait to go again!!
