Our little league Pro

Zach has had a blast playing T-ball this year and he is already excited about next year without the tee. Towards the end of the season they started doing coaches pitching. The coach would pitch 3 times and then they would hit off the tee if they couldn't hit the pitches. Zach loved that. He did pretty well too! There are a couple videos at the end...one is from earlier in the season and the second is with the coach pitching. It was fun to see the progress! Way to go Zach! We are so proud of you! Here are a few pics of Zach and his team from the season this year. Go Rockies!

Playing catcher. Check out all that gear!

Madelyn and Kali were my little shadows at almost every game. They love big brother!
(You might want to turn the volume down a bit so you don't have to listen to my loud cheering :) and just ignore the chain link fence in the first video.)

Spring...

(One of the Dove's nest)

Remember our hummingbird and it's baby that we discovered in our front yard last year? Well, we're not sure but that baby friend may have come back to our tree this year. We have had so much fun this spring watching the birds' nests in our trees. We had 3 this year. Two Doves' nests, and this adorable little tiny Hummingbird nest. The tiny little nest was about the size of a golf ball and was the lowest down so I was able to get some great pictures. We watched everyday as the mother sat and then when she was away we would peek in at the tiny marble sized eggs. Then one day the eggs were hatched and we got to watch the two tiny little hummingbirds each day as the mother would come feed them and they grew and eventually outgrew their nest. One day as I was trying to take a few pics of the babies, one of them got startled and hopped out of the nest and fell on the ground. Eventually it made it over to a bush where it hung out for a few days and then learned to fly just enough to make it back into the tree. It was amazing to see the mother bird and how she would protect and feed the babies and to see the little babies grow and learn to fly branch to branch in the tree. The kids would get so excited everyday to peek on our little friends and it was fun to see their reactions as we watched the birds grow. I love spring and the new life that it brings to the earth! (notice the color change in the tree as the birds got bigger) It was so much fun having our little fuzzy friends in our tree each day as we would come home and Zach and Kali would run over to check the tree to make sure they were still there. They are gone now and we miss seeing them but who knows...maybe they might miss us too and come back next year to our tree!

(All grown up and almost ready to fly. Bye little friends! We will miss you!)

Day trip to San Fran and Muir Woods.

A few weeks ago we headed out to the bay area to visit a good friend of ours while he was out from Utah on a business trip. We always love a good excuse to visit San Fransisco and do a little tour of our favorite places! We took our friend Regan to Muir Woods to see the giant redwoods and take a nice little nature walk with the kids. It is such a beautiful place and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. Afterward, we headed over to the Golden Gate Park where we let the kids get out and play for a bit before we went to Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39 where we had a yummy dinner. It was great to catch up with Regan and spend a family day together visiting some of our favorite places! The weather couldn't have been any more perfect too!!

Camp Far West Lake

Our new favorite hang out! Lately as the weather has warmed up we have found a new love! Camp Far West Lake is only about 25 minutes from our home and it is perfect for the overnight quick camping trips. A great place for the kids to run and be free and explore and Mark can be in his element too! A few weekends ago we went up on a Friday night with the Hinson's and some other friends and had a campfire and smores. As it got late, the moms and babies packed up and went home and the awesome Dad's roughed it out through the night and camped with the kids. My kind of camping! :)

Two weekends ago we headed up to Camp Far West Lake on Saturday afternoon and took, the jet ski, Neal brought their canoe and our friends Dave and Ali joined us as well as the Haar's who brought their boat. The kids had a blast taking turns on the boat, tubing, going for rides on the jet ski with Mark and just getting dirty digging and playing on the shoreline. We couldn't leave with out building a campfire again and having treats and toasted leftover pizza on a stick (see last picture) haha! We are loving the beautiful sunny weather and I'm sure we'll be taking many more trips to the lake this coming summer! Thanks Haar's for sharing your boat with us!
