Utah Trip...

We took a trip to Utah for Mark's little brother Jeff's wedding on August 8th and let's just say it was a busy few days with NOT a whole lot of nap taking. We seemed to be on the go the whole time we were there. The wedding was very nice and we are excited to have a new sister-in-law, Brittany, who is just adorable and a real sweetheart. Welcome to the family Brittany!! The happy couple looked gorgeous and made for some beautiful pictures! I did my best at taking some good pictures and let's just say that family picture taking is not any fun with a new baby, a 2 year old, and a 4 year old. They were NOT the most cooperative! Needless to say I did get a few cute ones!

We stayed with our good friends from Lincoln that had just moved out to Utah, Dan and Lori Brown. What little time we got to spend together was so much fun and the kids really enjoyed being together. We went with them to the Dinosaur Museum and a little Country Farm petting zoo place at Thanksgiving Point where the kids had tons of fun together! We also went to an awesome indoor swimming water park place that was so much fun!! We had a fun and busy trip and the kids actually did pretty well in the whole 10 hour car drive to and from Utah. Thank heavens for portable DVD players & movies in the car!!! I was shocked at how many movies Zach and Kali would watch all in a row! Anyways, here are some pics of our fun times with the Browns. Zach really loved playing with his best friend Nolan, and Kali wants to be just like Hannah. They had so much fun!

Our sweet Madelyn

I can't beleive how fast time flies and how behind I get on updating my blog!! So here's just a quick update on our sweet little Madelyn with a bunch of pictures that I've been meaning to post. Madelyn has been so fun to have around with her sweet little personality and adorable smiles all the time now. She loves her big brother and sister and she always is full of smiles whenever they talk to her. I took her to her 2 month check up yesterday and she is healthy and thriving! She weighs 11 lbs 8oz. and was 22 & 1/2 inches long. I can't believe she is 2 months old already!! She is growing way too fast!

Family picture.

Our Library gives away free books every Thursday during the summer and for a few weeks they were letting the children bring in a picture of their family that they color themselves so they can receive 2 free books. So, I thought I would try it out and see what kind of pictures we get. I have never asked Kali to draw people before and who knew that a 2 & 1/2 year old could draw!! Here's their beautiful artwork... These are definitely for the memory books!

The middle child.

Need I say more??! Kali is now "the middle child" and she has taken that name to new levels! Let's just say she is quite the sassy little diva/ drama queen/ know-it-all/ miss independant/ 2 year old going on 16!!! I'm sure none of you know what I'm talking about and have never had a child like mine. So here's a little update on Kali. In the past two weeks she has decided that she no longer wants to wear diapers or pull-ups and she will only wear panties. If that means we go through 5 pairs a day then so be it. I don't want to pay for diapers anymore for her anyways so great! Right?!! Well, along with this self-potty training deal comes Miss Independant "I'm not tired, I don't want to take a nap" girl. I refuse to let this happen especially because my 4 year old still naps! Well, so I still put her down for her naps same time everyday and on some days I have locked her door so she at least stays in there for me to get a break. Now whether she naps or not that's her problem. So the other day I went in to check on her and this is what I found...

That's right...she was asleep on her floor with no clothes on. I died laughing and decided I had to get a picture of it. She was bound to crash sometime! Her new favorite thing is changing her clothes 5 times a day and even her new princess underwear. During naptime that is usually what she is doing, changing clothes.

Well, so I am also having a problem with this little attitude she has these days. It really makes it tough to get through some of the days without loosing it!! I love my Kali and when she is in a good mood she is soo sweet. But tell me what you do about the attitude and mouthing off? Isn't she a little young?? Girls are so different then boys and I don't think I have had to deal with this before. If anything Zach is just barely starting to get a little attitude with me only sometimes. Anyways, if you have any advice please do share.

Well, to leave on a positive note, Kali is quite the big sister and she just can't get enough of her little sister Madelyn... even if Madelyn doesn't want anything to do with her. Kali loves to kiss her and hold her all the time and it really is cute. Here are a few pics of her loving Madelyn.

Kali does love her daddy!! Just some cute ones I thought I'd share.

My little getaway to Houston!

A couple weeks ago Mark had a business trip to Houston and I decided to take Madelyn and go with him. It was fun to stay with my parents and spend lots of time with my sister Kelli and my mom. We did a lot of just hanging out and also some shopping. It was so nice to shop with only one baby and actually get to shop. (I am in desperate need of clothes that fit after this whole baby thing...I swear it should be called the fourth trimester!!) Anyways, I also got to visit and spend time with one of my best friends that I grew up with, Becca and her little baby Cooper, and also my good friends Amy and Chris. It was so great to see them and have a little getaway to myself. Mark pretty much was gone the whole time working. Oh yeah, we left Kali and Zach home with Auntie Sheila and Uncle Jeff and their two boys Justin and Jordan. The kids had a great time with them!!Thanks you guys!!! You are the best!!

4th of July!!

Well, so here are some pictures of our 4th of July. Sorry they're a little late but better late then never!! We headed up to South Lake Tahoe with Mark's parents and his sister Sheila's family. We really had a fun time just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather. The kids got in the lake and did a little swimming and digging in the sand which is always fun! It seemed like an eterninty to those poor kids waiting to see the fireworks. So when the time came, Zach had fallen asleep in my lap and missed the whole show but it was Kali who stayed awake and watched the fireworks beginning to end! It was quite the trip to make with little Madelyn but she did great and is sure a real trooper as we drag her along everywhere we go!

Mark and the kids took a ride in Grandpa's firetruck that was decorated for the Placerville parade. Fun stuff!!

Does she ever stop eating junk??!! I swear the kid is a bottomless pit!
