The middle child.

Need I say more??! Kali is now "the middle child" and she has taken that name to new levels! Let's just say she is quite the sassy little diva/ drama queen/ know-it-all/ miss independant/ 2 year old going on 16!!! I'm sure none of you know what I'm talking about and have never had a child like mine. So here's a little update on Kali. In the past two weeks she has decided that she no longer wants to wear diapers or pull-ups and she will only wear panties. If that means we go through 5 pairs a day then so be it. I don't want to pay for diapers anymore for her anyways so great! Right?!! Well, along with this self-potty training deal comes Miss Independant "I'm not tired, I don't want to take a nap" girl. I refuse to let this happen especially because my 4 year old still naps! Well, so I still put her down for her naps same time everyday and on some days I have locked her door so she at least stays in there for me to get a break. Now whether she naps or not that's her problem. So the other day I went in to check on her and this is what I found...

That's right...she was asleep on her floor with no clothes on. I died laughing and decided I had to get a picture of it. She was bound to crash sometime! Her new favorite thing is changing her clothes 5 times a day and even her new princess underwear. During naptime that is usually what she is doing, changing clothes.

Well, so I am also having a problem with this little attitude she has these days. It really makes it tough to get through some of the days without loosing it!! I love my Kali and when she is in a good mood she is soo sweet. But tell me what you do about the attitude and mouthing off? Isn't she a little young?? Girls are so different then boys and I don't think I have had to deal with this before. If anything Zach is just barely starting to get a little attitude with me only sometimes. Anyways, if you have any advice please do share.

Well, to leave on a positive note, Kali is quite the big sister and she just can't get enough of her little sister Madelyn... even if Madelyn doesn't want anything to do with her. Kali loves to kiss her and hold her all the time and it really is cute. Here are a few pics of her loving Madelyn.

Kali does love her daddy!! Just some cute ones I thought I'd share.

I love to read posts like this Kari because it makes me realize that i am not alone. Wish I had some answers, i am just trying to ignore the behavior and not overreact to it (which is hard to do - at least for me!) Aren't girls fun - and we have the next little ones to look forward too - haha!!!

Advice??? Heck I think you are a good mom, just keep being the loveing person that you are, and this moment in Kali's life will soon go away! Kali seems like she has some spunk. Her and Abigail need to hang out more! The two of them could do some damage!

OH, wait, I wanted to say I really liked the pictures of Kali and Madelyn. I liked the one where Madelyn is looking up at Kali and smiling. Very precious.

I am going to correct you with this. I dont think it is a middle child thing. Kinsey is worse than Kali and she is the oldest! Anyway you gotta love our little DRAMA QUEENS! Kali is so cute!

Kari you always look sooooo cute! Even right after having a baby! I think that's the worst part of having a baby is the first 6 months after - nursing boobs are always way to big to fit into anything! And then the "shrinking" stomach that takes a year to get rid of (at least for me) is no fun at all. Kali is such a cutie in the pictures you posted - I love the ones of her and your cute baby. I can't relate with the girl drama - all I can say is good luck and try to get as much sleep as you can! It's hard with a newborn, but I get the grouchiest when I don't get enough sleep!

I agree....I don't think it's a middle child thing because Emma went through it, also. We still struggle some days but my biggest help was a book called Setting Limits with your Strong Willed child. Check it out:
