Oh the things kids say!

So today I pulled into the gas station at Sam's Club and I get out to pump the gas. I open Kali's door to wipe her sticky ice cream hands off and she says "Mommy I have to go potty!" (For those of you that don't know, we are NOT potty training right now because of the whole new baby thing and we tried to start the potty training a few months ago in hopes that we would have success BEFORE this baby comes. Well, no such luck of course so we went back to diapers.) So I replied, "There is no potty at this gas station...just go in your diaper." She replied, "I just go pee on a tree." Now where do you think she got that one from?!!! I just died laughing!

Baby celebration!

Here they are! Prego pictures of the BIG Mamma in waiting!! These were taken at the baby shower open house that Kristin and my friend Heidi did for me. Look at all that YUMMY food!! Let's just say that's all we did that night...EAT! It was really fun and I got a lot of great gifts for this new baby girl! I'm really excited to have a summer baby. She is the opposite season as Kali and so it was great to get tons of new outfits and dresses and fun things for this little girl to wear. I am 38 weeks and more than ready to POP! I seriously would be so happy to have this baby tonight if I could. However, I do want to hold out until my mother gets here Saturday. I will definitely need her then!! I'll keep you posted on any news!

Big Sister...

Okay, so I just had to share these pictures and tell you about how much Kali is loving baby Madelyn these days. She is hugging baby Madelyn (my HUGE Belly) and listening to her in this picture. The other day she found some baby shoes in the dresser for Madelyn and brought them to me and said she wanted to put them on her. Then she brought me her own blankies and said she wanted to share them with baby Madelyn and tried to give them to her through my tummy. Yesterday, she found the baby bibs and was trying to put them on my tummy! The list goes on and on and Kali is pretty sure she knows there is a baby in that big round tummy of mine. I told her baby Madelyn loves how nice she is being and what a great big sister she is and she put her head/ear on my tummy to listen. I asked Kali what Madelyn was saying and she said "Ummmm....I'm a child of God"(since that is her faovrite song these days). And of course that just melted my heart! This is really going to be fun to have a new baby sister in the house. Hopefully Kali will still be as excited as she is now. So enjoy the fat pictures of me and my sweet daughter hugging on my enormous belly. :)

S'mores anyone?!!

We went up to Mark's parents house for Mother's Day weekend and stayed the night on Saturday. Grandpa had a great idea to have a fire and roast marshmellows with the kids. It was tons of fun!!

Sorry, I just had to post the one of my sexy husband!!

Special Mother's Brunch!

Zach was in a little program and brunch at his pre-school for all the mothers to come and enjoy the week of Mother's Day. It was so cute as they got up and sang songs and had a little brunch where the kids served us then gave us a little gift that they made all by themselves. Well, so during the program or songs, it was of course my son that was the silly show-off and got all the other kids all wound up and by the end of the first song they were all on the floor. Why couldn't my son be the quiet one who knows all the words and sits like a perfect little boy and does whatever the teacher says!!?!! Maybe because he's a normal 4 year old little boy who is just begging for attention! AHHH! Oh well, so I do have it on video and I'll try to get it on here another time. Anyways, it was all really sweet and I think Zach thought it was really special to have me there.

Pals!

So I just have to say how nice it is that Zach and Kali actually like to play with one another these days. Kali is getting older and talking more by the day and Zach is loving always having a little pal to boss around and play with. These are just a few pictures I've taken in the past couple weeks of them playing together and not fighting! Of course we still have our moments and Zach does like to tease his little sister like any big brother does. Kali is a fiesty one though...she is not afraid to fight back! :)

Big Bed!

Kali is no longer our baby anymore and she is finally moving up in the world as a "Big Girl" with her very own brand new "Big Girl" bed. This has been the big debate for the past few months because I wasn't quite ready to give our little drama queen her freedom yet, especially when she is perfectly fine with her crib. I had talked myself into keeping her in the crib until after the baby comes. Well, to make a long story short I of course got the pregnancy nesting fever and wanted to get the room and crib all ready for the baby and therefore get Kali a new bed. So, we decided to transition her before this baby comes and get her used to the fact that the crib is no longer hers and is going to be for her new baby sister. Anyways, I bought her new bedding a while before we got the bed and so we talked it up and got her all excited to have a new big bed just like Zach. She was so excited and actually loved the idea of a new big bed. So the big day came and we moved out the crib and brought in the "Big Girl" bed and it was all ready for nap time. She actually stayed in the bed and never got out and went right to sleep the FIRST time!! So then I thought she should figure this out pretty quickly...well, bed time rolled around and again it was a piece of cake. She went doewn no problem! So I went to check on her after she was asleep later on and this is what I saw.

I thought it was kinda funny how she was sleeping sideways and she did this for the whole first week. Oh well...whatever works. She still has yet to figure out how much freedom she has. I love it! She still actually sits in her bed and whines until I come get her in the morning and also after naps. It's been a really easy transition and I just hope that she doesn't figure out her freedom right when this baby comes!!! You know that's exactly what's going to happen!!!

Happy 7 Years to US!

Well, Mark and I just celebrated our 7 year anniversary this weekend(April 27th)! 7 YEARS!! WOW! Where does the time go!!? I would post some pictures of our little day trip get-a-way except that I FORGOT the camera! Dang it! Oh well, darn ...no FAT pics of me and my huge belly! ok...so we did take a few pictures with Mark's camera phone and who knows when I'll get those from him, so you'll just have to wait and see. Anyways, so we decided to take a day trip to San Francisco with NO KIDS and just enjoy spending time together. It was actually really nice to have a 2 hour drive together and have actual real converstaion with my husband that has been working 24/7 these days. When we got there we decided to take a Catamaran sailing cruise around the Bay and just enjoy the beautiful day. I highly recommend it if you've never done it! After that we walked around Pier 39 and then decided to head over to Union Square for a little shopping downtown and dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I LOVE that place! Well, so we didn't actually do a whole lot of shopping because my poor huge body was exhausted, but we did enjoy a YUMMY dinner and the BEST Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake you'll ever have!! I LOVE IT! That honestly was probably my favorite part of the whole day!! ...other than being with my wonderful husband!! We had a great time and I am so grateful for such a wonderful husband that I love so much and for the 7 years we have had together, and I look foward to the many more years ahead of us!

On a side note... so I know I haven't posted anything in a while and I was seriously going to post some pictures tonight of the kids, BUT I can't find the camera cable that hooks up to the computer to upload the pictures. DANG! I seriously have turned over this whole desk looking for it so hopefully my dear husband has just put it somewhere and I will have to find it another day. SORRY. SOOOO, when I do get more pictures I will post them as soon as I can...and who knows...maybe there will be some lovely big belly pictures of me for those of you that have been asking!

Easter Fun!

We started the Easter weekend off with an Easter egg hunt with the Mommy & Me group at a park. Zach had preschool that morning so it was just me and Kali heading to the park and she was so excited. There was a huge turnout and plenty of eggs and fun! Kali had so much fun with her friend Kinsey. While waiting for the egg hunt to start they found a patch of flowers and I got a few cute pics of them . It was a little chilly and I couldn't get Kali to take off her hood so sorry about those few pics where you can't even see her. We had all the kids sit on the bleachers and sing songs while the eggs were being hidden. As you can see there were tons of kids and it really was a lot of fun. The first egg Kali found she had to open and discovered candy inside. SO, of course every egg she picked up she had to open to see what was inside. I had to convince her to keep finding the eggs and then we'll open them at the end. She was so cute and it was fun to spend time with just her. It was so cute how they all sat down next to each other to discover what was in their eggs. The sugar binge begins!

Saturday we had an Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Kristin's house in her massive backyard. The kids had so much fun! They especially loved just sitting and eating all the jelly beans til their hearts' were content. They had a picnic outside eating chicken dinos and apples and of course more jelly beans! Oh well, who cares! I figure let them binge on sugar for one weekend and then it all disappears after that. What's the fun in Easter Egg hunts if you don't get any candy, right?! Plus I get to pick out all the good stuff and eat it myself! Especially the chocolate! I am a "chocoholic" for those of you that didn't know.

Sunday morning the kids woke up to find that the Easter bunny left them a little something in their baskets. They were so excited about their new "binoculars", as Zach would call them. A simple toy and a little candy is all they needed to be entertained for the next little while. Kali was loving that she could see Cinderella in her "noculars".

Here are a few pictures of Zach and Kali in there Sunday Easter outfits. Zach's new favorite thing to wear to church now are new ties and his missionary tag. He thinks he is so big these days. As you can see, the weather has been so nice lately. We went to Mark's parents house after church to have Easter dinner with them and we had a great time. We had a really nice Easter Sunday.

Fun Day with Mommy!

This was a week ago but I thought I'd post it any way. This was last Friday when I had nothing planned and felt like being totally non-productive with my house or anything else and so I just made it a day with the kids. So, I let them play something that I NEVER let them play with and just let them get as messy as they wanted...it was PLAYDOUGH time!!! and they LOVED it! I swear I need to do this more often!

After playing with playdough for a good hour, we cleaned it all up and then went for a walk/bike ride to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having! While out walking and Zach and Kali riding their bikes I realized that they needed to be wearing bike helmets and how horrible I am of a mom for not making them wear them before. So I decided to make it fun and go the Target all together and pick out helmets...that way it would be extra special and they would be more inclined to wear them if they picked them out themselves! Right?! Well, it was a success and they love their new helmets! In fact it was nearly impossible to get them to take them off for naptime! Here's a few picks of them sporting their new helmets.

Moral of the story is...It's so great to drop everything and take time to spend a quality fun day with your kids! I feel like so many days go by where I am so busy with keeping up with the house, laundry, groceries, cooking, running errands, making it to appointments or playdates or preschool, or talking on the phone, that I forget what is most important in my life. My children are my pride and joy and I forget how much fun they can be! I have to say that we really had a fun day together and I'm sure they enjoyed having a mom that actually played with them and paid attention to them. I'm sure you all have had days like this where it hits you...we live very busy lives and we forget how much our kids just need a mom to play with sometimes. Needless to say, I had a very fun day with my two SWEET kids and I LOVED every minute of it! I need to remember to do this more often!
