Off to Houston!!

The same night after we finished our Ragnar trails race, we packed up the kids and the car and took off on a straight through drive to Houston, Texas. Mark needed to be there by Monday morning for work and so we left around 9:30 Saturday night and got there around 7 am Monday morning. The kids did great, I got very little sleep and lost my voice and lived off of a lot of Diet coke, and Mark drove most of the way on about 2 hours of sleep. Crazy what we can push our bodies to do!!!

We made it safe and sound to Kelli's and planned a week of some fun with the kids. First stop was the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. YUM!! I took the big girls for pedicures. We enjoyed homemade pizzas, the movies with Mema to see Despicable Me 2, some relaxing time with cousins, many hours at the pool, and fun at the mall eating chickfila and riding the carousel!

Date night at the temple and Cheesecake Factory. It's been years since Mark and I have been back to the Houston Temple where we were married.

Enjoying some frozen yogurt at Menchi's. Yummy!

A visit to see Meghan and Jim and their kids and their awesome clubhouse pool! The kids had a blast with their cousins and loved that super fun water slide!!

Aunt Kelli is so fun!! Thanks for letting us crash at your house for two weeks!!

California bound!

Ragnar TRAILS- South Lake Tahoe- July 26-27

Running, and Trails, and Bears...Oh my!!
This was a super fun new Ragnar experience through the trails of Sierra at Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe. Instead of driving from each exchange to the next, there are three different running trail loops that begin and end at Ragnar Village. We set up camp and pretty much just hang out and chill while our runner is out on their trail.  8 runners, 3 loops, 24 legs. Green loop was about 3 miles, Yellow loop was 6.8 miles. and Red loop was 7.7 miles. Everyone gets a turn on each loop. It took us until about 4 pm the next day to finish after starting at 12:30pm Friday.  We did a couples team with the Tenney's, Nielsen's, and the Thompson's with Becca Brandi as our volunteer/backup runner (little did she know what she was getting herself into!!).  Loved having this crazy fun time with amazing friends and this awesome hunk of mine!!

Aubry and I got to double up on our last loop together because the trails were taking a lot longer than the race planners expected and so they were getting teams to double up on their runners in order to finish by a certain time. I had a blast running/hiking with one of my most favorite friends!! We pretty much climbed a mountain together!! It was crazy hard!!

Becca ran my Red loop for me in the middle of the night. I had been struggling with IT band issues since my last race/half-marathon and just couldn't put on the miles. Collin and Mandi both ended up getting injured on their runs too so Becca ran a loop for each of them! Becca is a Rockstar!! She ended up getting to run all three loops!

DONE!!! We ended up getting 2nd place in our division!! Way to go hotties!!!

American Idol Concert- July 22nd

We scored box seats to the American Idol Concert from a friend for FREE and had a blast with some of my favorite girlfriends!!

San Diego Vacation - More random pics from my phone :)

Just found some more pics from our super fun vacay in San Diego... The sunsets every evening were amazing and we soaked up every last bit of the sun daily!

We got tickets to go to the San Diego Padres vs. SF Giants game and it turned out to be a very historical and exciting game for the Giants. Lincecum threw a NO Hitter!! Amazing and so fun that they all got to be a part of it!  Me and Grandma stayed at the beach house with the littles while the big kids got to go to the game.

Enjoying another beautiful sunset with this hot guy :)

All of the adults took turns going to the San Diego Temple. Such a beautiful Temple and so fun to get some alone time with my hot hubby!

Enjoying some yummy shaved ice with Grandma!
