My Baby is ONE!!

I can't believe that year has come and gone!! Our baby girl turned ONE on Monday Feb. 20th and we spent all weekend celebrating with family. On Saturday we drove up to G & G Stacy's for a night and had a little birthday party for our sweet Lillian! Thanks so much Grandma for the cute cake and for the princess crown that you can see Lilly loved :) (for about 5 seconds!) Don't mind the dinner all over her face either! haha!

She obviously didn't mind the mess and dug right in!! None of my other kids ever dove into their cake like Lilly did! haha! She was LOVING it!!

And she loved the little People car from Grandma and Grandpa!

On Monday, Lilly's actual birthday (which happened to be Presidents Day and the kids were all out of school) we took advantage of the holiday and decided to go visit Auntie Sheila and Uncle Jeff and their kids for the day. It was the perfect day and the kids had a BLAST playing with their cousins and running around outdoors ALL DAY!! Lilly was acting all big like Hailey and pretending like she can walk just like her...they were so cute together! I love these pics where you can see Lilly trying to talk to Hailey :) I can already tell they are going to be BEST COUSIN buddies!

We told the kids to go find treasures in the fields across the street and boy did they come back with "treasures"!!! Haha!! Hey, it kept them busy for a good couple of hours :)
I LOVE how much these kids LOVE each other!!!
And here's my attempted photo shoot with the birthday girl!! It was a little too bright and we got squinty eyes...but still pretty darn cute if you ask me!!  I just LOVE HER!!

CAKE TIME!  -take two.  AND she LOVED it again! I don't think I've ever seen a baby shove it in as fast as Lilly did AND finish the whole thing off !! haha!! This girl means business!

After a nice bath, and still in her "birthday suit", we opened presents.
Lilly LOVES her new Minnie Mouse riding toy. She dances to the music and mostly loves to push it around.

Happy 1st Birthday sweet Lillian!! We are so grateful for your sweet little spirit and fun personality and that you are a part of our family! We just wouldn't be complete without you!!!

Donuts and the Dentist :)

Madelyn's preschool went on a field trip to Krispy Kreme last week and since the big kids were out of school that week they got to come along for the fun too! The kids got to tour the kitchen and learn all about how the donuts are made and frosted and then they got to frost and sprinkle their own! It was super fun and I think we are all "donuted" out for while! haha!

A visit to the Dentist :)
Later that week, Madelyn had her second visit to the dentist and she did great!! This time she actually let them clean her top teeth and then that was enough. She didn't like the grainy tooth paste feel or taste.  haha! She wouldn't open for him to finish the bottom teeth and we wanted to keep it a positive experience so we didn't push it :) Thankfully the dentist said her teeth look great with no cavities or signs of plaque buildup and that we should be very proud of her great teeth!! YAY! Later that day Madelyn said to me that next time she will let them clean just her bottom teeth :)

What happened to winter?

Took these pics of the trees in my front yard...What's with this California weather?!! As I sit and write this it is 70 degrees outside in February! Crazy! My poor trees are so confused! BUT, who's complaining, right?? My kids are LOVING it!! and so am I!! I guess the ski resorts are the ones really complaining...oh and my husband because he hasn't gotten to snowboard once this season! Oh well, what do you do!?

Last minute weekend getaway!

The first weekend in February Mark and I got a little last minute weekend getaway to Encinitas (just north of San Diego) -Thanks to Grandma Stacy for watching our kiddos so I could join Mark on a quick business trip. We stayed in this AMAZING home right on the beach (thanks to a new business partner who owns/owned the place but is now sold).  We took full advantage of the offer to stay there before the house closed escrow :) It was much needed time spent together! The ocean just has something so soothing and relaxing about it and how cool it was to hear the waves all night long! The sunsets were breathtaking and the little town of Encinitas had super fun little shops and amazing restaurants all within walking distance of the house. It's been a while since we have gotten to enjoy such quality time together and we really had a great time walking and shopping the shops, eating super yummy food and just plain relaxing on the patio and soaking up the warm sun and ocean air!  Thanks again Grandma for taking great care of our kiddos and for letting us get the time away!

(if you look close you can kind of see the message Mark wrote to me in the sand)

Moms, Sons, & Sundaes :)

Zach and I went on a date a few weeks ago for the "Moms, Sons, and Sundaes" night at his school. It was super fun to have just one on one time with my little man! We made it extra special and had dinner at Red Robin together before going to the school for ice cream sundaes and fun games. Sadly this is the only picture I took of us on our date. We had a great time though and I am so proud of my sweet Zach and the awesome son that he is!

You know you have older siblings when...

I asked Zach and Kali to play with Lilly for a little bit while I took a shower and this is what I came downstairs to find. Haha! Poor baby :(
