Trip To Houston

Well, we actually took the whole family this time since the kids haven't been to Mema and Grandpa's in a year and a half. We thought it was time. Actually it was totally last minute planned because Mark had a weeks worth of business going on in Texas and asked me if I wanted to go too. I told him as long as we could take the kids this time, I'm there! Now, normally we would not even think about taking the whole family because of how expensive it costs to fly but we were in luck this time. Because Mark traveled so much last year he earned a companion pass which means I can fly free with him anytime so that's one ticket. We also had earned a rapid reward ticket and then his business paid for his ticket so we ended up only having to pay for ONE ticket!! Whoohoo!! Family of five for the price of one ticket! We're there! So we had a great time (10 days to be exact) in Texas and the kids had a great time visiting with my parents and my sister Kelli and her little girl Alexa. I was also able to be there for Kelli's baby shower which was tons of fun! So glad I could be there and actually get to hang out A LOT! Here are som pics of our trip.

Excited to go to Mema and Grandpa's house in Texas! The flight there was great and the kids did awesome! Love the dvd player! Don't ask me how the flight back home went. Let's just say it wasn't as smooth sailing.

PJ's and a movie almost every night at Mema and Grandpa's house. Our nightly ritual while we were there. Zach and Kali loved spending time with their cousin Alexa too! :)

Red lipstick?

I'm in Houston visiting my family while Mark is here on business for the week. So I just have to share this conversation I had last night with my almost 5 year old son. You tell me if I should be worried...

We were looking at old family pictures together and then Zach spotted the bridal shots of me and all of my sisters. As he was going through them my mom and I were asking Zach who each one was and he was naming them all...Mommy, Aunt Kelli, Aunt Kristin, Aunt Kathryn.

So then I asked, " So which one do you think is the prettiest?" (thinking of course he's gonna say me because I'm his mother, right?)

Zach looks at me with this little smile on his face and he says, "ummmm...Aunt Kathyrn!"

I then shockingly replied, "What? Why is Aunt Kathryn the prettiest?"

With a little silly smirk on his face he said quietly, "Because she has red lipstick!"

I seriously had a hard time keeping my self together. My mom and I almost died laughing because I seriously had no idea that my son really noticed or cared about red lipstick!! Now, just in case you're not one of my sisters and you are reading this, for your information Kathryn has beautiful big lips and she basically used them as her accent color with her red roses for her bridal portraits. You can't miss her gorgeous big red lips in her picture and that is exactly what she wanted. (love you Kathryn) Anyways, so now I'm just wondering if I need to wear more lipstick so my son thinks I'm the prettiest! J/K I just guess I didn't wear much on my wedding day...or not enough red for my son's taste! Oh well. So now that I know he likes red lipstick should I be worried? Isn't he a little young?

My baby is 5 months old already!!

I cannot beleive how time has flown by and how quickly these children grow!! Madelyn is 5 months old and growing like a weed! She is full of smiles and silly faces and just adores her big brother and big sister! Madelyn is rolling all over both ways and loves to hang out on her tummy and play with her toys or just watch whatever is going on around her. She also has discovered her toes and feet and has been caught sucking on her big toe a few times! She LOVES to be part of the action and is perfectly content just hanging out on Mommy or Daddy's lap and watching all that is going on around her...even if she has had little or no sleep. She has such a sweet little temperment and will smile at anybody that will look at her. She also has discovered her voice and loves to make sounds and coo to whoever is paying attention to her. She is sleeping through the night and wakes up at 5 or 6 for a feeding and then goes right back to sleep til 8 or 9! Lucky Mom! We just LOVE and ADORE our sweet baby Madelyn and our family wouldn't be complete without her!

It's the big 3-0!!

Yep! That's right! Mark turned the BIG 30 yesterday!! We had a great time celebrating with friends on Friday night at Costa Vida and then a little round of minature golf afterwards! Saturday we went to Mark's parents house to spend the day with them and ride quads and visit Apple Hill for the last time this season. We just had to get caramel apples one last time! Unfortunately, I forgot the camera Friday and Saturday and didn't get any picturs of the festivities. BUT Sunday on his actual birthday we went to some friends house for dinner and they were so awesome and made Mark a birthday cake and we did get a few pics!! Thanks so much Carter's!! I can't believe I didn't even make my own husband a birthday cake on his 30th birthday! How bad is that! Well, Happy Birthday Honey!! I love you!

Princess Kali is 3!!

Kali turned 3 on November 3rd and we had a little family birthday party for her the weekend before. She had so much fun with all her cousins and G&G Stacy there too!! I can't beleive she is 3 already!! It is crazy how time flies when you are BUSY with 3 kids. Kali is going to preschool and she loves it especially with her friends Kinsey and Avery being in her class too. She loves to sing any and all songs that she has learned at school and at church. She loves to play dressup and expecially loves to put on make-up. I don't know what I'm gonna do with this little diva! Kali also loves to be mommy's little helper and clean up around the house and help take care of her baby sister Madelyn. She just loves and adores Madelyn and it is so cute to see her hug and kiss Madelyn and play with her whenever she gets the chance. It is so much fun watching these sweet children learn and grow and it just amazes me how quickly they grow up! Kali is such a little joy to have in our family and we just wouldn't be complete without her!! Happy 3 years Kali!! Here are some pics from her birthday party.















On Kali's actual birthday we had a small celebration at Chuck-E-Cheese's with a couple of her friends from school, Kinsey and Avery. They had so much fun and Kali had a great birthday!! Here are a few pics. Madelyn even had fun!

Halloween 2008

So here they are folks. Better late than never right?? Princess Cinderella and Pirate Captain Zach had a great time trick-or-treating and of course were loaded with sugar after making the rounds through our neighborhood with Daddy and Uncle Jeff. I didn't dress Madelyn up for Halloween night but she was my little pumpkin at the ward halloween trunk-or-treat the weekend before.
